Chief Development Officer

Position Overview

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) will design, lead and implement a sustainable fundraising strategy to increase ANY’s philanthropic revenue from a diverse portfolio of sources ($3M+ budget).  The CDO will achieve this goal by enhancing existing strategies and developing new, innovative approaches to create a strong support base for ANY.  As a member of Senior Staff, the CDO will provide leadership on overall organizational strategy, including setting annual organizational priorities.  The CDO is also responsible for the ongoing development, refinement and scaling of ANY’s national communications plan and will guide the strategy for all communications, website, public relations messages and collateral to consistently and effectively represent the ANY brand and articulate ANY’s mission. The CDO works directly with local Executive Directors on development and communications strategies and ensures that the local teams are equipped with the tools, resources and insights to meet its goals. The CDO reports directly to the CEO.

Position Overview

ANY is seeking a Development Coordinator to join our Development Department. The Coordinator will gain knowledge of fundraising, event management and valuable experience working within a progressive and entrepreneurial nonprofit environment. The Development Coordinator owns Development reporting and data health, and is excited to use data and analysis to grow ANY’s impact. The Coordinator will have the opportunity to work with internal and external ANY stakeholders, take ownership of key responsibilities that influence the success of ANY’s fundraising strategy and support the execution of a multi-faceted development plan. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and will demonstrate excellent communication and analytical skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on large and small tasks. The Development Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Development and Communications.

LaGuardia Program Manager

Position Description

The ANY Partner Fellows Program at LaGuardia Community College is our first campus-based program and will launch in September 2017. The LaGuardia Program Manager will launch this new program and deliver 18 professional development workshops over the course of two years to a cohort of 50 LaGuardia Fellows (ambitious, first-generation college students) and their Mentor Coaches (accomplished young professionals). The LaGuardia Program Manager, with the support of the National Program Director, will implement a best-in-class curriculum, provide holistic support to Fellows and Mentor Coaches, and assist in recruiting a cohort of 50 Fellows and Mentor Coaches each year.

As Program Manager, you will serve as the main point of contact for a cohort of 50 Fellows and Mentor Coaches. From your office within LaGuardia’s Center for Career and Professional Development, you will provide holistic support to Fellows, including counseling through personal, academic, and professional challenges, and helping to source and secure internships; additionally, you will support Mentor Coaches through the mentoring relationship and leverage Mentor Coaches’ strengths and talents to maximize program effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have be excited to launch a new program site, have experience providing case management or academic/career advisement to college-aged students, will be highly organized, and enjoy public speaking, event planning, multi-tasking and team collaboration.

New York Internship and Alumni Coordinator

Position Overview

The New York team is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering curricula for 28 workshops per year, along with providing case management support for 200 Fellows and recruiting a new class of 100 each year. Fellows are required to complete two internships during the course of the program, and the Coordinator will work closely with the New York Team to provide vital internship support services to help Fellows meet this requirement. The Internship and Alumni Coordinator will also support recent alumni (within two years of college graduation) with their job hunts, help plan and run alumni activities, both social and professional, and track alumni information. The ideal candidate will display meticulous attention to detail, be highly organized, and have strong professional communication skills. He or she should enjoy multi-tasking in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment, working with technology, and interacting closely with Fellows. This position is ideal for candidates who want to develop human resources and recruiting experience in the social sector.

California Program Coordinator

Position Overview

America Needs You – California launched in 2016 as ANY’s first Partner Fellows Program site. The California program works with two partners, the Ric and Suzanne Kayne Foundation and ScholarMatch, to provide college students with holistic support through graduation and to careers. America Needs You focuses of the career development and mentorship aspects of the Kayne Scholar experience.

The California team delivers approximately 10 Saturday career development workshops and several additional program events annually to two cohorts of Kayne Scholars (ambitious, first-generation college students) and their Mentor Coaches (accomplished young professionals). The team also builds corporate partner/internship host relationships, works with national staff on curriculum design and development, provides support to Kayne Scholars and recruits a new class of Kayne Scholars and Mentor Coaches each year.

As Program Coordinator, you will serve as a main point of contact for Kayne Scholars and Mentor Coaches. You will help Kayne Scholars explore careers, navigate professional and personal challenges, and source and secure internships by counseling Kayne Scholars both directly and in collaboration with their Mentor Coaches and ScholarMatch College Advisors. You will also provide an inspiring learning experience and environment at Saturday workshops and other events. The ideal candidate will have experience providing career advisement (in person and virtual) to college-aged students, will be highly-organized and will have skills in public speaking, project management and team/multi partner collaboration. The ideal candidate will also have had experience in a startup environment/virtual/remote office, be a self-starter and energized by the ambiguity and opportunity of joining a new (as of 2016), 2-person team. This role reports directly to the California Program Director and is based in Beverly Hills.

Our Illinois Program team is looking for an entrepreneurial, dynamic Intern who is excited about working in a progressive nonprofit environment. The Illinois Program Intern will have the opportunity to work directly with the Illinois Executive Director and learn about various aspects of nonprofit and program management. The Illinois Program team works with America Needs You to design, develop, and deliver curricula for 28 workshops per year, which is delivered to two classes of Fellows. New Jersey Social Media and Communications Intern – Summer 2017

We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented, and organized individual to be our Social Media and Communications Intern. The Intern will learn about nonprofit media, marketing, and brand management. This individual will help promote the NJ Fellow and Mentor Coach experience through a variety of social media and stakeholder outlets. In order to showcase the accomplishments of program participants, the Social Media and Communications Intern will help generate content that can be used on social media, as well as on additional platforms (e.g., ANY monthly newsletter, traditional media, etc.). This intern will tell our story through photographs and interviews, on Facebook and Twitter, and help us coordinate messaging to partners. The ideal candidate is collaborative, has strong written and verbal communication skills, is curious about marketing and media, and will enjoy interacting with our vast network of young professionals and college students. Most importantly – the ideal candidate will enjoy finding creative and innovative ways to tell a story.

This individual must be able to travel to universities and colleges in northern New Jersey, and be willing to work 1-2 Saturdays a month (schedule is already set). Prior internship or volunteer experience with a nonprofit is preferred, but not required.

The Executive Office Intern works directly with the CEO of America Needs You. The position requires excellent communication skills, professionalism, resourcefulness, ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines concurrently and a strong interest in nonprofit management. The intern will be exposed to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment in a progressive nonprofit. The intern will learn about all aspects of nonprofit management, including but not limited to: expansion, board management, donor outreach, internal and external meetings and communication, special events and brand building. The intern will be assigned a variety of tasks necessary for the internal and external operation of the Executive Office and will have the opportunity to take part in calls and meetings with the CEO of America Needs You.
