Alan Emerson Evans is a fourth-year radiology resident at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, where he balances his time between providing clinical care to a diverse population of patients throughout the Chicago metropolitan area and teaching junior residents and medical students. As a resident at McGaw, Alan has served as the Co-Chair of the Northwestern McGaw Underrepresented Residents and Fellows Forum, where he provided leadership and mentorship to trainees from various departments throughout the Medical Center.
Alan graduated from Howard University with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry in 2006. He then attended Ohio State University College of Medicine, and prior to graduation with an M.D. in 2012 took a two year leave of absence to pursue a M.B.A. from Columbia Business School where he graduated in 2010. While at Columbia he worked as an Associate Consultant at Eli Lilly and Company in their Advocacy group where he performed analysis of healthcare reform and made recommendations for policy positions, stakeholder priorities, and third-party engagement strategies.
Alan has been an artist since childhood, and has created a number of comic strip and comic book projects that he is looking forward to resuming now that he has successfully completed his radiology boards. He also has active interests in artificial intelligence, biking, independent films, philosophy, and social justice.
