I am a rising junior at Rutgers University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics. As an individual who values knowledge and philanthropy, I am deeply passionate in learning about the academic study of medicinal science as well as the human interaction needed in patient care. This past year, I was a researcher at an Alzheimer’s disease laboratory and I had the opportunity to explore the deeper pathological roots of Alzheimer’s and truly engage with the science community. In accordance with my focus on patient care, I am also the Treasurer of the Ashley Lauren Foundation Club at Rutgers University, a charitable organization dedicated to providing financial aid and care for families and children suffering from pediatric cancer. This experience has allowed me to delve into the realm of patient care and understand the importance that simple interpersonal skills in the profession can bring to a patient. As a future healthcare worker, I endeavor to build upon such experiences in the hopes of providing the best care and treatment for my patients.
