I am currently a sophomore at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and am majoring in English. In the future, I plan on attending law school. My personality reflects my choice of career as a lawyer. I am a social person and enjoy helping others. I have always wanted to become either a lawyer or pediatrician. After gaining unique experience working in a medical office for four years, I wanted to learn about other industries. Therefore, I began to research the process of becoming a lawyer. As an attorney, I will aspire to help those families and individuals who are in need.
I did not know what type of law I would want to pursue until high school. Fortunately, I attended a high school full of immigrant students who had to experience the same process of naturalization as I did. Most of my family members and I are immigrants in the United States of America. In fact, America is a nation built by immigrants and many new settlers continue to move into the United States. I want to be able to support these individuals as effectively as possible.
As a 2015 America Needs You Fellow, I am going to learn many new leadership skills. Using the new skills I learn from ANY, I will aspire to help my own and surrounding communities.
