My name is Anel, and I am a student at DePaul University. Currently, I am working towards a degree in Management, with a concentration in Sports. Recently, I worked as a Sports Instructor for 4-8th grade students. I was responsible for over 150 students. My position allowed me to gain experience in communicating effectively, and executing lesson plans. It also helped me improve my ability to multi-task, and it heightened my awareness of individual students’ needs.
Growing up, I was heavily influenced by my older siblings. They played baseball and basketball. I began playing basketball in middle school, and learned about the value of being on a team. For example, I learned about persevering through adversity. Though I am not yet certain of what my ideal job looks like, I hope to find a career in the sports industry.
I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of ANY Fellows Program, where I will develop my leadership skills, and have a Mentor Coach who will help me achieve personal and professional goals.
