As a young child, I understood how important it was to always set an example. Watching my family struggle to provide for me and my two other siblings made me value how hard they work. It also set a strong example for me. As I’ve grown older, my mission has been to follow in the footsteps of my family; to honor their struggles, and to be a role model to my siblings and to generations of children like me. It is important to me to find success in ways that my family was unable to, in order to inspire my siblings to do the same.
To achieve my mission, I chose to pursue my dreams by enrolling at Rutgers University to study Communication and Human Resource Management. Both fields combine my interests of working and connecting with people and working in broad fields that give me freedom to explore and become a leader. At Rutgers University, I have become an active member in my community. I work as a peer academic mentor and a recruitment member, with the goal of aiming to be a role model and mentor to my peers and fellow students.
Through America Needs You, I hope to strengthen my leadership abilities and continue to be a role model to those around me. I know that ANY can help me grow and instill within me the knowledge I need to mentor and motivate others.
