I am a sophomore at North Park University studying biology. I am starting to conduct research in a laboratory on campus. One day I hope to start my own company that aims to create new medicines, and cure diseases around the world. Overtime I have learned to become resilient, have integrity, be resourceful, be professional, and demonstrate my leadership abilities.
In 2012 when I was a junior at Steinmetz College Prep, I joined a college persistent program called OneGoal that helped shape me into the person I am today. I am a strong leader that helps guide others to prosper and enrich their skills at school and to prepare them for the roles they’ll play in when looking for a career path. I was given a role by OneGoal to guide the younger fellows at school, to connect with them, and to position myself as a resource when they need the support.
I volunteered to talk to younger fellows from OneGoal, and other students about the roadblocks I faced and how I overcame them. I try to inspire students to excel and achieve beyond their potential. I hope to continue to play a vital role in helping younger students persist in college in the future.
