Ashley

I am an immigrant from the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, in South America. My family and I immigrated to the United States two years ago to be with my grandparents. I got accepted into Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn but realized that my parents could not afford to pay my tuition. That would not deter me. I did everything I possibly could to finance my way through school.

I inquired about every program the college had to offer that would help in financing my education and that is how I learned about the Accelerated Study Associate Program (ASAP). After learning about ASAP, I completed every requirement, took the necessary remedial courses and in less than two years I will be graduating with an associate’s degree in Business Administration.  My career aspirations are to obtain my bachelor’s degree in Accounting and then become a Forensic Accountant. I chose forensic accounting because I am excellent with numbers, great with analyzing figures and it is a unique profession.

Joining America Needs you is one the best decisions I have ever made. The best thing about the program is having my own mentor to help and guide me with tools and advice that my family cannot provide. This program will lead me closer towards my career goals by providing me with internships and the chance to network with experience professionals in my intended field. ANY will equip me with excellent leadership skills as well as help me conquer my fear of public speaking.
