I am currently a student at DePaul University pursuing a degree in Political Science. I hope to attend law school after graduating with my bachelor’s degree. My parents immigrated to America from Vietnam. They always stressed the importance of hard work, determination, and compassion. I am working on embodying these traits, and preparing myself for my career by being a leader on campus, an active member of the Mock Trial Team, and achieving honors for my GPA. I have served as a campus leader by being a Residential Hall Council Senator, an Orientation Leader, and a member of the DePaul Homeless Coalition.
My passion for law stemmed from my Vietnamese heritage and a desire to help others. While traveling to Vietnam, I witnessed the government restricting the people through lack of support and denial of human rights. I want to make sure people understand their basic rights, and I have begun to develop my knowledge around the legal system by participating in mock trial for 5 years, and interning at a personal injury law firm.
In the ANY program, I plan to pursue my goal of becoming a lawyer through the fantastic networking and development opportunities that ANY offers. On top of all this, my Mentor Coach will be a strong support unit to help me meet my goals and dreams in life. I am honored to be the first class in the 2015 Illinois Fellowship Class!
