Britanny

Britanny

I was born and raised in New York City to Dominican parents. My mother stems from a very modest background and although some may identify this as a weakness, it has been her greatest strength.  Living through her struggle of providing for my siblings and I has inspired me to give back to them and my community.

As a sophomore attending Bronx Community College (BCC) in the Bronx and majoring in Sociology, I have had the honor of serving as the Vice President of the Bronx Community College Phi Theta Kappa Chapter. As Vice President, I make members aware of scholarship opportunities and assist with the annual Honors in Action project.  Ultimately, I dream to become a professor of Sociology one day and continue to provide and nurture for our communities through my love for teaching and learning.

I joined the America Needs You because I know that the Fellows Program provides an invaluable opportunity to learn from a wide network of professionals from different industries and varied backgrounds who want to help us achieve our dreams. Together we can accomplish anything.
