My parents came to America from Poland with little more than faith and a dream. However, with hard work and determination, they have provided a wonderful life for myself and my siblings.  As the second oldest of eight brothers and sisters, I saw the sacrifices that my parents had to make.  I had to learn to grow up and adapt quickly in order to help my family.  These challenges instilled in me the importance of family, hard work and sacrifice. These are values that I know will help me find success now and in the future.

I am currently attending Rutgers University – New Brunswick, as a member of its Class of 2019, majoring in Chemical Engineering. I am very passionate about the food industry because of my youngest brother, who was born with many food allergies.  Doctors told my family that he would eventually outgrow his allergies, but four years have passed and my brother is still struggling with them.  Many of his food allergies are caused by the chemical processing of food.  Being able to find more natural, organic ways of processing food would change, not only my brother’s life, but everyone’s for the better.

With the help of America Needs You, I know that I will meet my personal and professional goals.  I am thrilled to be part of the program and proud to call myself an America Needs You Fellow.
