I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, and I’m currently majoring in Accounting at DePaul University. My family has been my strongest support system, and they are the most important people in my life. I became interested in Accounting when I was working as a caddie two summers ago. After talking to many people about their career interests, and conducting some research, Accounting stood out to me. I was able to speak to an Accountant, and he reassured me that it would be a good fit for me because of my interest in math.
My main goals are to work in Accounting, and to give back to my community. I would like to help guide future generations who may be interested in pursuing a career in Accounting. For the past five years, I have held a leadership position in a men’s group in my community called the Holy Name Society. The group focuses on community involvement and rejuvenation, especially in the context of a society built upon traditions. Watching this society as it continues to grow and share new ideas, as well as fulfil its mission of working with the community, has been a great achievement. I have become the person I am today because of the support of many people, including America Needs You. With the help of ANY and my family I plan to achieve all of my goals.
