Coming from a Hispanic background, I have been raised to appreciate education and to know the importance of hard work. After earning my bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Merced, I will attend graduate school and earn a master’s degree.
People often compare the human body to that of a machine, one that uses a variety of systems to sustain itself. Unfortunately, like a machine, individual aspects of the body can break down in the same way a machine could. I am dedicated to pursue a career that combines both the human body and technology which led to my passion for biomedical engineering. To further involve myself in the engineering community, I am a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at my current campus.
American Needs You workshops will guide me through the process on understanding how the real world works and teach me the skills to become both a leader and an active member in society. I am excited to work with my mentor coach, who will offer a helping hand when needed and become one step closer to attaining my goals. I am proud to be a 2016 Kayne Scholar.
