I am a sophomore at Harry S Truman College. I plan to transfer to a four-year university to study Business. I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. I am the youngest of three daughters raised in a single parent home. My mother is a big part of my success. She has helped me, and motivated me in every decision I have made. I love helping others, so I hope my career leads me to a field where I will be able to give back.
I am an alumnus of The Urban Alliance, a nonprofit organization that mentors high school juniors and seniors on professional etiquette, resume buildings, an interview skills. This program has taught me so many skills that I continue to use every day. They have groomed me into a well-rounded student who is always looking forward to learning something new. I had the opportunity to intern at Skadden Law Firm in the Managing Law Clerk Department. It was such an amazing experience that allowed me to improve my computer, communication and organization skills. As a result of this internship, I feel better prepared to network at professional events, walk confidentially into an interview, and present myself in any workplace to the best of my ability. I am now able to manage my time better, and grow in new environments.
I look forward to all that the American Needs You Fellowship Program has to offer. I plan to utilize my skills to better myself, and help myself grow every day with the help of ANY.
