I was born in Haiti, but moved to the United States after the 2010 Earthquake. I completed high school in the U.S., and now attend William Paterson University pursuing a degree in civil engineering. I have a strong passion for building infrastructure, and civil engineering was my most logical career choice. In addition to academics, I am an avid sports fan and expect to one day coach soccer, a sport I’ve played almost my entire life. I channel my emotions through soccer. I’ve been coached in the sport, and I enjoy coaching others, as well. Coaching has sharpened my communication skills as well as helped me learn how to diagnose and address problems, and ultimately improve them. All of these skills will help me when I one day work on the construction of roads, bridges, houses, and various projects. Engineering can help me in my ultimate goal of creating opportunities for children to learn and improve their strengths during the earlier stages of their lives.
