Born and raised in the Bronx, I aspire to become an interior designer. Currently, I am enrolled in the Accelerated Study in Associate Programs at the Bronx Community College and I am a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Upon completion of my associate degree, I intend to transfer to a four-year school and earn a bachelor’s degree in architecture.
My parents are very influential to me. Working alongside my father in his carpentry business, I learn the importance of respect, hard work, and organization. This is where I cultivated my passion for architecture. Growing up, my mother instilled in me the value of education. Preventing me from being a victim of the tough streets of the Bronx, she has consistently pushed me to take the opportunities given to me and has supported me every step of the way. Once I receive my degree, my goal is to build an international interior design portfolio with projects from around the world.
As a first-generation college student, my Mentor Coach will play a role in holding me accountable for my studies and internships so I can graduate and be career-ready. I look forward to the opportunities to network and learn from Mentor Coaches and other Fellows. I am excited about learning skills such as public speaking that will prepare me for a career in interior design. It is an honor and privilege to be part of the ANY family.
