Florence

I am an example that one can accomplish anything with hard work and determination. I was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa and I immigrated here with my family seven years ago. Since then, I’ve been striving hard to do the best in every task I undertake. It’s difficult to realize your goals when something as basic as communication is a challenge.  When I first moved here I knew very little English, but I was determined to master English and through rigorous practice I was able to become fluent. I apply this motivation to everything I do and I strive to become successful so I can provide a better life for my family and give back to impoverished communities in Africa. Becoming an international accountant would help me fulfill this dream.

I’ve always loved math.  I enjoy being able to understand and systematically solve intricate math problems.  My international background has also made me curious about the different cultures of the world, which is why I have chosen to pursue a degree in international accounting at Baruch College.  To further my experience in accounting, I’ve interned in various organization’s accounting and finance departments.

As an ambitious and hardworking individual, I will leverage the skills that ANY helps me develop to earn great internships and achieve my professional goals.  By accomplishing my goals and aspirations, I will make my family proud.
