Sometimes life presents you with challenges, not to break you but so you can learn from them. This perseverance to face any challenge is one of the many values my parents instilled in me. I was born and raised in Grenada before moving to the United States in 2014.
I currently study at Borough of Manhattan Community College and major in Business Administration. When I transfer to a four-year college I want to earn my bachelor’s degree in International Business. I initially became interested in business studies when I attended career day at St. George’s University. I was enthralled listening to business managers and professors speak. Who knew discussing contracts and mergers would be so thought-provoking? Therefore, I became a member of my high school’s Junior Achievement (JA) program the following school term. I spent a year devoting my time to my school’s JA company as the Assistant Sales Manager and a member of the production team. This program educated me on entrepreneurship and helped me realize that one person cannot operate a company alone; it takes a team. The knowledge and experience I attained during that year cemented my decision to further study business.
Becoming an America Needs You Fellow is such a privilege. Through ANY I will develop the skills I need to achieve my goals and build great connections while working with a highly motivated team.
