I was born in Haiti and I moved to the United States after the earthquake in 2010. My parents have always told me that education was very important and that it is imperative to work hard for your goals. Determination, hard work, and gratitude are some of the most important things they engrained in me before the move.
Because I was born in a country where medical resources are at times limited, one of my early inspirations for my career path was my pediatrician. He was passionate about medicine and instilled in me the love for Pediatrics by feeding my curiosity at a very young age. During high school I had the opportunity to intern at Maimonides Medical Center in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which solidified my love for being around children. I currently attend Medgar Evers College as a Science major with a concentration in Math. I plan on attending medical school after receiving my bachelor’s degree to pursue a career in Pediatrics.
I joined America Needs You to gain the resources required to accomplish my career goals and become a better leader. With the help of my Mentor Coach, I plan to develop the skills I need to become a Pediatrician. In the future, I wish to be able to give back to my community and even give back to my country by helping kids in need of medical care.
