I was born and raised in Turkey. I moved to the United States at a young age. Because my parents gave weight to my education, I studied hard in high school so that I could both make my parents proud, and start college as soon as possible without delays. In my high school years, I came to realize that I have an interest toward Law and Politics. That interest led me to become the Vice President of the Student Government in high school. During the term I served my peers, I got a valuable insight about politics.
I am currently pursuing a BS in Criminal Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I have a passion for learning more about the criminal justice system and making it work for everyone. I believe my interest in law and politics will help me make a difference by becoming a voice of those who have been silenced. Besides my educational pursuits, I am also interested in playing sports. When I was in high school, I was a part of the soccer and tennis team, which taught me the importance of teamwork.
I want to grow professionally with the help of America Needs You. Throughout this great journey, I aim to build strong relationships with other Fellows and Mentor Coaches. I will also have the chance to improve my public speaking skills, which will be an advantage for my future career. I know ANY is the place to achieve my goals.
