My name is Jasmine and I am a proud Latina. I was born and raised in the South Side of Chicago. I am working toward a bachelor’s degree at Dominican University. My parents always told me that education is the key to success and I am therefore determined to achieve my goal of graduating college.
I am interested in pursuing a career either in criminal justice or design. Since I was a young girl, I have always been very creative. I could utilize my creativity in a graphic or a fashion design career. I believe that designs are a way to keep the people’s attention. I have completed design projects inside and outside of school, including illustrations of the types of clothings I want to make as well as company logos and animations.
Criminal justice interests me because I love to protect and help people in need. I also enjoy solving problems or mysteries. My organization and time management skills would definitely fit into that category as well. Additionally, I want to be able to make a change and to make the people feel protected.
As a first generation college-student, I knew ANY was the right program to help me become a successful woman. In ANY, I hope to build strong relationships and a powerful support system with all the Fellows, Mentor Coaches, and with the broader ANY network. This support system will help me to build my confidence, gain experience and accomplish my professional goals.
