I draw my inspiration from monuments like Wa Naa’s Palace, Kwame Nkrumah’s Mausoleum, and the Larabanga Mosque. From an early age, I understood the importance of architecture in the life and culture of a society. When I moved to the United States, I knew that pursuing a BA in Architecture at the City College of New York was the right choice to achieve my ambitions.
Growing up in Ghana helped me appreciate the connections between the architectural design of a community and the continuation of a collective identity. My life’s goal is to design sustainable buildings that complement the natural environment and culture of the local community.
ANY serves as the perfect platform for my development due to the invaluable access to guidance from Mentor Coaches. As a 2015 New York Fellow, it is a privilege to be part of a dedicated group of individuals striving to improve society, one day at a time.
