When I came to the United States at the age of 5, I experienced a culture shock at school. I was unfamiliar with the English language and American culture which made me feel out of place. I became determined to work hard and achieve my goals. As a result of my hard work, I am now the first in my family to attend college.
Currently, I attend Baruch College with intent to major in Finance. On campus, I am a student ambassador for international students. This allows me to enhance my leadership skills by helping students adapt to a new school environment. The leadership skills I am developing while in college will help me pursue a career in business. When I was seventeen, I decided to follow an animal-free diet in order to be healthier. Ultimately, I would like to become a leader at a company that distributes healthy animal-free products.
I applied for the America Needs You Fellows Program because I wanted to challenge myself to grow professionally. I look forward to learning how to present myself with confidence, communicate effectively, and network in a professional setting. I know that ANY will support my growth, ultimately helping me become a stronger businesswoman and take the next step in accomplishing my career aspirations.
