Starting my high school career in South Africa and finishing here in the United States was a challenge. It took time to adjust to a new curriculum and teaching style was challenging, I believe that having to work harder for good grades taught me a valuable lesson in endurance. I was able to join the Mock Trial Team and graduated from high school at sixteen years old.
Practicing in Mock Trial Competitions captured my interest in law. However, growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, I also developed a curiosity for business. I saw first-hand what it takes to build and sustain a successful, well-run business. I decided to combine both my interests, and pursue a career as a corporate attorney. This will give me the opportunity to pursue what I’m passionate about, and continue with the business mindset I inherited.
America Needs You is the perfect opportunity for me to expand my knowledge in both these fields. More than that, being an ANY Fellow will push me out of my comfort zone, giving me the opportunity to find skills and interests I didn’t know I had. I’m excited to be a part of the 2015 Fellows Class!
