I am currently a full time junior at Lehman College working towards my Bachelor’s degree in Biology. I grew up around young children and my passion for kids has led me to develop the goal of becoming a Neonatologist. So many kids in the world are born with birth defects or prematurely and I want to be the person that can help save their lives. In the next five years I see myself with a degree in Biology and preparing for the MCATs.
My most recent volunteer experience was at my former high school where I worked as the Assistant Administrator for the Academic Counselor. My work there included distributing graduation requirements, reorganizing and synchronizing paper documents into proper files, and constructing programs for the students. Throughout high school, I was a member of the National Honor Society, an organization that recognizes outstanding high school students in the areas of leadership, service and character.
Participating in the New York Fellows Program will provide me with the necessary skills to help achieve my career goals. The mentoring and networking opportunities will help develop my professional skills. Attending the workshops we have had so far has motivated me to continue pursuing my goals and I look forward to two years of reaching my potential and enriching my academic excellence.
