It has been a long journey for my family. They traveled more than two thousand miles to provide me with everything they never had. My family always promotes free-will and independent thinking. They encourage me to look beyond what meets the eye and dig deeper than the surface, always investigating.
It is with this in mind that I am pursuing an associate degree in Nursing from Bronx Community College. Prior to entering college I was an EMT for the state of New York. I enjoy learning about medicine and healthcare, specifically the relationship between the cost of medical treatment and the patient. My goal is to attend a four-year institution to study both economics and neuroscience. I plan to learn more about the relationship between medical cost and care. I also want to learn about the brain’s relationship with identity and uniqueness, which fuels my curiosity in the neurosciences.
The America Needs You Fellows Program is a place where I can harness and nurture lifelong professional skills, which in turn can make a long-lasting impact on others that I will further encounter in my life.
