I attend Rutgers University, pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. I intend to earn an M.S. in the same field. In addition to my studies, I am interested in prosthetics and rehabilitation. My long-term goal to design and research low-cost prosthetics, and learn their stories. Having been born in the Dominican Republic, a country where only a select group of people have access to quality healthcare and technology, I understand the importance of innovation and affordability. I am excited to be living in an era where there is a vast amount of cutting-edge research. With knowledge and creativity, I want to be a part of the solution that makes software and tools more effective and accessible to others. I plan to obtain valuable career development skills, learn professional etiquette, and make my presence known in the worlds of research and industry. I will have the opportunity to network with a wide variety of professionals and obtain experience in my field. The skills I will learn will enable me to become more competent in the workplace and increase my ability to do what I love to do – help others.
