I live in Brooklyn but I am originally from Guinea Conakry. In 2008, I moved to New York to gain more personal and educational fulfillment. I’m attending Stella and Charles Guttman Community College where I am working toward a degree in Human Services. Being a college student is very exciting for my family and me, especially because my parents’ dream was to have their child attend college.
I am interested in pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work and becoming a medical social worker after graduation. Also, after going through the process of becoming a U.S. citizen, I have become very passionate about helping other immigrants and their families go through the immigration process as well. I want to help them work towards accomplishing their American dream.
During my time at ANY I hope to gain courage and the ability to help lead youth like me to find the path to their future. My goal is to help people access research that teaches them to take better care of themselves and helps them feel more comfortable about themselves. I also want to help immigrants like me achieve their true passions.
