Karen

I am a first-generation college student currently attending Wilbur Wright College as a sophomore. My supportive mother raised me in a single parent household. She has instilled in me the values of family, determination, perseverance, and dedication. Her continued support and encouragement have helped shape the woman I am today and drive me to succeed.

While attending Wright College, I am pursuing my Associate’s Degree in Business Administration with the goal of transferring to a university where I intend to major in accounting or management. I have gained work experience as a data-entry and inventory clerk. This role has given me the opportunity to significantly improve my computer and organizational skills. I plan to apply these valuable tools as I manage both my college and professional careers simultaneously.

I am excited and thankful to be a 2015 Illinois Fellow because ANY will help me build the leadership and professional skills I need to be successful. In addition, ANY will allow me to further explore my interests and better align them with a career opportunity suited for me.
