I attend Drew University, majoring in Biology with minors in Public Health and Studio Art. I am pursuing a career in medicine. As an active member of the Volunteer Resource Center on campus, I help provide opportunities for community service in nearby cities.
When I immigrated to the United States from Peru at the age of 8, I became a vital communications resource for my family as they relied on me to help translate between Spanish and English. This role has shaped who I am today. Being bilingual allows me to serve others by making their voices heard. I hope to become a physician so I can provide underrepresented populations with adequate healthcare. I will also use my bilingualism to help individuals overcome language barriers present in their communities.
