I was born in the Dominican Republic and I came to the United States when I was eight years old. Through the experience of moving, I became interested in helping others and specifically providing medical attention to children that are less fortunate. Currently, I am a sophomore at Rutgers University studying Public Health aspiring to become a pediatrician. As a Camp Coordinator at Aspire High, a non-profit organization dedicated to the education of minority and low-income students, I am helping to create a program consisting of activities to empower children to be future leaders. This spring I would like to obtain an internship where I can continue to positively impact children while developing and strengthening my leadership skills.
