Mamadou

Mamadou

I was born in Guinea, Conakry and I am currently a rising sophomore at Baruch College majoring in Business and Finance while still exploring my interests. My goal is to learn the professional and social skills that would enable me to thrive in any field and eventually become a person who makes an impact on society.

I have worked for several retailers in the past year and have also participated in fundraising events held by the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Some of the skills I acquired from the retail industry are the ability quickly adapt to any situation, strong interpersonal as well organizational skills. I have also learned to work with others with integrity and respect. My many interactions with customers also instilled a high sense of professionalism and courtesy. In addition to my professional experiences my volunteer contributions with Relay for Life has taught me how to be an effective team member and brought me joy to be involved with a cause that saves many lives.

Both my professional and volunteer experiences broadened my interests while also motivating me to be more involved in my community and other charitable causes. I wish to gain as many skills and use all of the resources available to me within the America Needs You program through the many workshops, internships and other character building activities in order to achieve my goals of completing college and becoming a successful entrepreneur in the competitive business world.
