I am one of 10 million New Yorkers that reside in a city known for persevering in the face of adversity. I was born in Queens, New York and lived there until the sixth grade. Due to economic difficulties, my family and I moved to Connecticut. My parents struggled throughout their lives, and they are one of the critical reasons as to why I have developed a certain headstrong nature to approach the challenges in my own life. I have learned how to tackle difficult times by always trying to find a solution.

It means a lot for me to be able to attend college in New York, as I love being surrounded by so much diversity. My first year at college has been extremely enlightening. Seeking different leadership opportunities, I became a member of Beta Alpha Psi, a professional business fraternity. I want to increase my network and pursue a front office role in my career, as I plan to major in Finance and Investments.

I am extremely grateful to join the 2016 ANY cohort, which offers a variety of networking and leadership opportunities. America Needs You is a program that will push me in the right direction, a step closer to fulfilling my dream of working at one of the top banks after graduation. In this way, I will continue to provide value to my peers and community, while also gaining valuable experiences from the program.
