I was born in Ghana and moved to America four years ago. My parents moved from their home country so that I would have the benefit of an American education. The sacrifice my parents made for me to have a bright future motivates me to try my hardest in everything I do. Moreover, it gives me the zeal to challenge myself, which has led me to find success in my life.
I am currently pursuing a degree in Psychology at Rutgers University Newark, and I am a part of the National Association of Collegiate Scholars and the National Society of Leadership and Success – Sigma Alpha Pi. I chose psychology because I yearn to help people and because the knowledge is applicable in so many different fields. I may ultimately work in a hospital, a marketing firm, or a specialized area within a different industry—the opportunities are endless.
I am delighted to be a part of the America Needs You 2016 class. I am confident that through the opportunities and components America Needs You provides to its Fellows, I will be able to successfully explore the diverse careers related to psychology.
