Omar

I’m originally from Jordan, and I moved to the United States in 2013. I came to the United States to further my education and use many of the opportunities offered here for students like me. Currently, I’m majoring in biology at Northeastern Illinois University, and my goal is to pursue a career in the medical field.

I’m interested in the medical field because my experience made me realize how important medicine is for the world. My grandfather died a few years ago after a long battle against cancer. I saw my family suffering and that broke my heart. However, it also encouraged me to study and work hard, so I can be able to help families who are in the same position my family was in a few years ago. My goal is to eventually do research and help find a cure for cancer.

I joined this program because I was lost and I needed someone to guide me throughout my college career. Many opportunities are ready to be taken advantage of but finding those opportunities is the hard part. ANY will help me find internships and volunteer opportunities in my field. In addition, the program will help me prepare for many professional settings and develop professional skills that I will need in my daily life, when I apply to a medical school, and in my career as a doctor.
