I was born and raised in Mexico until the age of seven, at which point my family moved to New York. There are moments in life when we have little control over decisions that will impact our future. My family’s decision to move to New York might have been the best thing that ever happened to me. I have learned that home is not just where those closest to you are, but rather where you best find a place to grow and most importantly, where you find your purpose.
Something that fascinates me is the nature of business, and the way it moves the world around us. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business at Brooklyn College and aspire to obtain a Master’s in Business Administration. Recently, I interned at a consulting firm where I gained an invaluable amount of industry knowledge and experience that has pushed me to pursue consulting even further.
One thing that I firmly stand for is the pursuit of happiness. Happiness carries many meanings, but for me it means having the ability to positively change the lives of others. My dream is that through my own professional development and success, I can ultimately impact the lives of underserved, urban youth by creating a culture of excellence which to follow. I believe being admitted into ANY brings me one step closer to that goal, by allowing me to work alongside other first-generation students who share the same passion and struggle as me.
