Born and raised in Nigeria, I am currently a student at Bronx Community College studying Psychology. My desire to study Psychology came from my experience as an introvert because it took me a while to understand myself and find value in my personality. Similar to my story, I’d like to inspire and help people to do and be better by understanding their behavior and personality. At Bronx Community College, I am a Phi Theta Kappa Scholar, a Math Tutor and Peer Educator for a program about psychological health called Get PSyCh’D. Aiming to reduce the stigmas associated with mental and psychological health, I work with students and encourage them to use available counseling services.
Outside my pursuit in Psychology, I am exploring my interests in public speaking, feminism and writing. I have improved my writing and enterprising skills by being the co-founder and resource manager for a non-profit organization of Nigerian writers called Sprinng Literary Movement. This movement has allowed me to mentor other Nigerian writers and inspire them to improve their skills. Besides that, I am the author of an anthology titled “Heartbeat” and I am working on my second book.
I am extremely excited to be a Fellow of ANY because it will help me to improve my skills and provide me with experience, training, and practice for my career path. My Mentor Coach will always be there to guide and encourage me to be and do the best that I can.
