While at Baruch College, I am merging my academic interests with my cultural roots. I am pursuing a BBA in International Business with a double minor in Mandarin Chinese and Marketing. As a leader in my college’s Model United Nations and Student Government, I devote most of my time outside of class bringing together different groups of people to work towards a common goal.
The fusion of location and culture shapes me tremendously. As an immigrant, my Mexican heritage continues to live with me everyday. As a New Yorker, I am constantly exposed to new cultures. As a result, I can fluently speak three languages (English, Spanish, and Italian) and am learning another three (Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and French).
One of my ultimate career goals is to work for the United Nations. My language skills allow me to understand different cultures and peoples. However, there is one language I have little fluency in until now. I joined ANY to learn a new language: professionalism. I believe ANY’s mentoring program will empower me with the knowledge to excel in a professional setting.
