As the youngest of four children of immigrant parents from Jamaica, I realized at an early age that nothing in life will be given to me and that everything I achieve has to be earned. I am the first in my family to attend a four-year college, currently studying at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. I plan to graduate with an associate degree in Business Administration. After receiving my associate degree, I hope to transfer to Baruch College to further pursue my interest in finance and ultimately earn a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.
I’m currently a member of the Finance Club at Medgar Evers and I intend to pursue a job in financial services. During my time off, I further my financial education by staying abreast of the latest economic and business news. I also partake in simulated trading through my online brokerage account. My goal is to get a job as an analyst at a hedge fund, then open my own.
Through the ANY Fellows Program, I hope to accomplish many different things including becoming a true professional. I also value the networking opportunity that is being provided through the program. The chance to meet new people, whether Fellows like myself or young professionals in my field of interest, is an incredible opportunity. Now that I am enrolled, I am very excited about the opportunity to see myself grow professionally over the next two years.
