Coming from Ghana, where we have far fewer doctors than cancer patients, my goal is to give back to a society that has invested in me by pursuing a career in healthcare. I am currently a student at Bronx Community College majoring in Radiology Technology with a minor in Public Relations. By combining these two fields, I plan to research alternative ways for effective health care. Living in New York City will give me the chance to work with various healthcare organizations and will supplement my coursework to make my dream of helping people become a reality.
Currently I give back to my community by acting as the President of the African Student Association and a leading member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, an international society that honors academically brilliant students at Bronx Community College. Taking on these leadership roles has help me build leadership skills while giving back.
I am very excited to be a 2015 Fellow, and with the help of America Needs You, I know I will be more than prepared to reach my goals.I look forward to working with motivated individuals and building valuable relationships with Mentor Coaches.
