Roberto

As a child of Salvadorian parents who immigrated to the US to escape the civil war, I grew up in South Central where our resources aren’t that great compared to other communities. I had a backbone with Neighbor Academic Initiative program throughout middle school and high school that helped through these struggles, and helped me prepare for college.

Upon high school graduation I decided to attend Humboldt State University, planning on majoring in Sociology and a minor in Political Sciences. My career interest is to work in the government or an organization that is involved in the community and are looking for a way to improve the community.

What I hope to accomplish with ANY is to build a network with companies, organizations and people that are involved with the community and want to make it better. The reason that I joined this program is that no other program gives you such opportunities to network with these big companies and they are a good backbone to support you along you college journey. My future goals are to improve the relationship that the government has with its community, and by doing so make the community safer and a better place to live in.
