My name is Rogelio and I was born and raised in the Southwest side of Chicago. Being a first-generation American, I have seen firsthand the struggles of making ends meet. My parents have instilled in me hard work, dedication, community, and education. Having two siblings that have gone through countless challenges to finish college, they also serve as an inspiration for me to work my hardest and never give up on my dreams.
I am currently a student at Illinois Institute of Technology where I am studying Electrical Engineering. I would like to focus my degree on power because it is something that I am very passionate about. I have always had a strong interest in power grids and motors and would love to make a career out of my passion.
ANY will provide me with the necessary life skills to ensure that my fullest potential is reached. Also, with the help of a Mentor Coach, I can have someone that can help me on a more personal level and will challenge me to bring out the best in me. I am honored to be a part of the inaugural class of the 2015 Illinois Fellows!
