I was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and I moved to Brooklyn when I was three years old. I recently completed my first year of college at Kingsborough Community College and will be transferring to a four-year university where I plan to graduate with a B.S. in Computer Science, so that I could pursue a career as a software engineer.
I have always excelled in math and I am fascinated by computers. This combination of skills and passion led me to my decision to major in Computer Science. I enjoy the problem solving aspect of computer science and I feel that it is something I will not only enjoy, but also excel in. I have previously worked for the Board of Elections and I currently tutor math and computer science at Kingsborough Community College.
Throughout my time in the New York Fellows Program, I plan to expand my network by connecting with ambitious, like-minded people and professionals who are well established in their chosen career fields. I also want to become the best person I can possibly be. The workshops push me past my comfort zone, allow me to develop my professional skills, and encourage me to plan for the future. I believe that with the help of the workshops and my experienced mentor, I will be able to achieve my goals.
