Raised in a single parent home, I knew early on that I would face challenges in my life, but it would be my attitude to shine in spite of adversity. I am currently earning my associate’s degree at Queensborough Community College, and I will be transferring to a four-year institution to earn my bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
I believe that education is a gift that opens doors to different people, places, and opportunities, and that it encourages growth and development. I am passionate about facilitating the way for our future leaders through education.
I am actively involved in the student affairs department on my campus, where I enjoy working with students outside of a classroom setting. I discovered that I learn from them just as much as they learn from me.
As an ANY Fellow, I have the opportunity surround myself with like-minded peers. This gives me the opportunity to grow and learn from those around me. I have been given a platform to capitalize on my strengths and to improve on my weaknesses. Through the program, my aim is to focus my goals with the hope it will influence my productivity. I am looking forward to building an amazing connection with my Mentor Coach that will last for many years to come.
