Coming to New York from a small town in Pakistan was truly an adjustment to make. I started my education in New York and am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree at Queens College. I am a self-driven student and always look for opportunities to help or enhance the experiences of my peers.
Having seen various health conditions within my family encouraged me to realize my strong passion for medicine and healthcare. Ultimately, I would like to work in medicine and possibly become a Physician Assistant. However, I am actively exploring developmental opportunities across various industries to better and enhance my knowledge of different career paths. Through my internship at Mt. Sinai Hospital, I have gained strong communication and documentation skills. I have observed several surgeries which have helped me develop a greater interest in medicine. I also have a passion for computer science and plan major in this field while in college.
I hope to gain more experiences which will help me explore other career paths. I look forward to pursuing various internships both in my fields of interest and other sectors. I hope to develop more professional networks and guidance from the America Needs You Mentor Coaches as I progress in college.
