Todd

As an active runner and former captain of my high school cross country team, I’ve come to recognize a few common characteristics among all runners — we are strong, and we are driven. I will apply the same drive and determination I developed as an athlete to pursuing a career in the medical field.

At first it was difficult to decide on a specialization until I discovered that my cousin, who is in her early twenties, has arthritis. I also learned that arthritis runs in my family and is a disorder that could strike at any age. Furthermore, there are very few effective treatments. My goal in life is to become a Rheumatologist and research treatments for this disease, possibly putting an end to its existence.

I currently attend Kingsborough Community College and am majoring in Liberal Arts. I plan on transferring to a four-year college and majoring in Biology. I joined the New York Fellows Program because I know that it has the tools I need to grow professionally and become successful.
