Volunteer

America Needs You is looking to engage professionals to support our Fellows through distinct mentoring opportunities.

Become a Mentor Coach

Mentor Coaches are dynamic professionals from a variety of industries across the city leveraging their talent, networks and expertise to help college students achieve academic and career success. These amazing volunteers all share America Needs You vision and believe success is not merely defined by their professional achievements, but also by one’s dedication to give back to his or her community.

As a Mentor Coach, you attend Saturday Workshops and form a long-term, one-on-one mentoring relationship with a first-generation college student, while becoming part of a vibrant network of industry-diverse professionals. To apply to become a Mentor Coach, please click here.

Become a Career Coach

Career Coaches are working professionals who volunteer for one-time or periodic opportunities, generally as a replacement for an absent Mentor Coach during Saturday Workshops.

To become a Career Coach, please fill out the Volunteer Interest and Skills Survey. If you are a volunteer for California, Illinois, New Jersey, or LaGuardia Community College, you can expect email invitations to workshop events following completion of the survey.

If you are a New York volunteer, visit the New York Career Coach Registration Page to view the workshop calendar and register for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
