Lyndsey Anderson is the New York Volunteer Manager at America Needs You.
Prior to joining the America Needs You family in 2016, Lyndsey worked at the Rubin Museum of Art as an Educator and the Manager of Visitor Experience and Access Programs. Her work focused on accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and fostering opportunities for individual and social transformations through the arts and educational programs.
Driven by her passion for service and adventure, Lyndsey joined the Iowa Army National Guard at age 17. She received a BA in Anthropology and Art History from the University of Iowa . As a veteran of the Iraq War, she is a recipient of the Pat Tillman Military Scholarship and is an active volunteer in several organizations that serve the transitional needs and barriers that servicemen and servicewomen often face upon returning home. Lyndsey remains a freelance Museum Educator and Accessibility Consultant at various museums throughout New York City and holds a Masters Degree in Museum Studies from NYU and a M.S.Ed from Bank Street College of Education’s Leadership program.
Lyndsey grew up in a suburb of Des Moines and has been enjoying living in and exploring New York City for the past 8 years.
