Rachel Wahba is the LaGuardia Program Manager for the America Needs You Partner Fellows Program at LaGuardia Community College. Rachel is the class lead for both Fellows and Mentor Coaches, and oversees facilitation of all career development workshops.
Rachel first entered the field of education as an Advisor at Hudson County Community College. Afterwards, she was a Counselor at the TRIO Upward Bound Program at Columbia University, called the Double Discovery Center, where she provided college-access counseling and personal support to first-generation college bound youth from low-income backgrounds. She has also spent some time administering psychotherapy to underserved children and adults in the South Bronx, utilizing Multicultural, Person-Centered, and Solution-Focused modalities.
Rachel received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development, with a minor in Global Studies and concentration in Psychology from Binghamton University. She received her Master of Education and Master of Arts degrees, both in Psychological Counseling, from Teachers College, Columbia University. During her undergraduate and graduate years, she spent her time mentoring, counseling, and advising marginalized youth and young adults.
Rachel was born and raised in the suburbs of Rochester, New York. She loves exploring New York City, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and empowering underprivileged individuals to overcome obstacles to success.
